After an internship and a residency at Northwestern University’s Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Dr. Mathur completed a fellowship in pain medicine and anesthesiology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He received several awards, including the Kovler Resident Award for commitment to teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration and the Harris Resident Award for academic excellence.

To keep up with the latest research and technologies in his specialty, Dr. Mathur retains active memberships in the American Pain Society, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the North American Spine Society. He is also a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where he has held several leadership positions including president and medical education committee member.

Dr. Mathur joined the team at NeuroSpinecare in 2014. Through pain management, also called pain medicine, he helps minimize the impact of surgical or chronic pain in his patients so that they can enjoy a better quality of life.
